What is the Pedagogical Cabinet? // This is a concept not very new, but extremely actual, answering all partakers' requirements. This Pedagogical Cabinet proposes a particular learning system regarding the participation, acquisition of knowledge about civilization, society and humankind in general, interactivity, freedom of creative expression (outside the school premises!), thus assuring the success of these classes. |
The benefits of our museum are immense, achieving successfully one of the basic functions, namely the educative one. The World Ethnographic Museum participates in this program, together with the other departments of the museum complex, with an attractive curriculum; moreover, it enjoys the advantages given by the display of the ethnographical objects from the permanent exhibition. The students partake in the following sections: Weapons, Ornaments and Household Objects. |
Starting with the autumn of 2002, the pedagogical program of the 'ASTRA' National Museum Complex was institutionalized, representing one of the most tempting offers of optional education. Groups of students from Sibian schools have been involved in this program, and the children acquire information about traditions, folk costumes and other elements of the Transylvanian (and not only) material culture. One of the most appreciated sections is the world ethnographic one, which also includes classes on the peoples of the world's culture (weapons, ornaments, household items from the museum collections). The classes take place in the pedagogical room and in the permanent exhibition halls. |
4.03.2003 Signed Lupu Debora, the fourth grade, The Pyramid - The Mummy - The Weapons (short essay) 'I have seen a mummy for the first time in my life in this museum. I have heard many things about the Egyptians and their achievements. The strange weapons displayed here have impressed me a lot, too. Thus, I have understood things that I did not knew before. The shields, spears, bows as well as the interesting ornaments aroused my curiosity. I will never forget what I have learned here. I would like to thank my teachers, who have explained all these facts to my colleagues and me. Debora Lupu' |
